WE ARE ME 我(們)到此一遊

#What Are You Looking At ?

The Keelung Museum of Art' s annual international exhibition, WE ARE ME — We Never Just Pass By reflects on the dialectical relationship between subjectivity and identity in the torrent of our image-sharing era. Transforming the conventional black-and-white box of museum display and interpretation, the exhibition unfolds as a series of immersive scenes composed by the rhythmic works of participating artists. You are invited to enter, reflect, and respond — illuminating the open exchange between artist and audience in  the streaming world of memes.

Here, you are more than a passerby. WE ARE ME employs the metaphor of overlapping mirror images to outline an ongoing dynamic. Through works by artists from Taiwan and abroad, the exhibition reconfigure the images, objects, languages, and symbols that shape us, guiding you through magnifications and compression of online experience, the hybrid histories embedded in image circulation, and the oscillation between passive and active forms of embodied encounter. It future explores the emergent corporeality and narratives open by AI technologies, while prompting us to confront us to confront the systems of technological surveillance and capital circulation that underline digital development. The conveniences we take for granted fundamentally alter how our "existence" is experienced and perceived.

In this exhibition — whether you are present on-site or viewing through a screen — can you find your place within this field? Can you, within this artistic encounter, allow yourself to be reflected, generated, and re-created together with us?
